SUMMARY:Basic Wildland Firefighter Training (NWCG FFT2) for Red Card
DESCRIPTION:Basic Wildland Firefighter Training (NWCG S130\, S190\, L180\; 
 FEMA IS100\, IS700) and Work Capacity Test for Red-Card Certification\nTra
 ining Rationale: This one-day workshop is designed for those interested i
 n becoming qualified as a Type 2 Wildland Firefighter (FFT2) under the Nat
 ional Interagency Management System (NIMS). Online training modules includ
 e National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) S130\, S190\, L180 and Feder
 al Emergency Management Association (FEMA) IS100 and IS700. In addition\, 
 students who successfully pass the physical fitness test (Work Capacity Te
 st or “Pack Test”) earn the "Red Card"\, a requirement to work on fore
 st fires at the national level and to participate on prescribed fires for 
 some agencies and contractors. The NWCG FFT2 Certificate is good for 5 yea
 rs. Red Card status needs to be renewed annually.\n\nTraining Description:
  Online training modules and computer self-study (approx. 32 hours) provi
 des fundamental knowledge on wildland fire behavior\, firefighting safety\
 , and organizational control. The mandatory one-day field exercises (appro
 x. 8 hours) provide hands-on practical experience for the entry-level wild
 land firefighter.\n\nPrerequisites: Participants must be 18 years old by 
 February 15\, 2025. Online module completion certificates must be received
