IF YOU DO EMS TRANSPORTS AND BILL FOR YOUR SERVICE

HB 1372 COULD CAUSE YOU TO LOSE INCOME

The IVFA & the IFCA opposes the ambulance provision in HB 1372 in this year’s Indiana General Assembly which would prohibit a provider of ambulance service that transports a covered individual to an in network facility or from an in network facility to another facility from charging more than the amount allowed under the network plan applying to the covered individual's coverage.

The bill has passed the House of Representatives and will be heard by the Senate Insurance Committee on Wednesday, February 12.

EMS is already underfunded and DHS estimates this provision would decrease EMS reimbursement by 22%.
